Shrouding overhead lines

If you are encroaching on overhead power line in any way (for example erecting scaffolding, building, etc), they may require protective shrouding to be applied to ensure your safety and the safety of others. Our engineers will install shrouding, if appropriate , free of charge for a period of up to 4 weeks. After this period a weekly rental fee is charged until you notify us that the work is compete.  Please be aware that we DO NOT fit shrouding for work involving mechanical equipment (e.g. Hiabs) or for Tree cutting.  Phone 687687 for further advice

If you require overhead electricity cables to be shrouded please complete our online Application for Shrouding Form. This form should be submitted at least 10 working days prior to shrouding being required to allow us time to assess and programme the installation.

Once submitted, you will receive an email confirmation and we will endeavour to have your enquiry progressed as soon as possible.

When you are ready for the shrouding to be removed please complete our online Removal Request Form (or notify us in writing if more convenient).
