"Manx Utilities have been working with the Department of Infrastructure, to identify the most suitable sites across the public estate for the deployment of solar PV projects, given the availability of resource and technical constraints of the network.

We have identified a number of sites across the public estate which have a high potential for solar production. These include public buildings and car parks.  In total, 10MW of publicly-owned front-of-meter solar generation will be connected to our network by 2026. This will mean solar electricity can be available to all customers at the lowest possible cost.

Sites identified in phase one are the NSC, Noble’s Hospital and the Sea Terminal and will utilise roof space and car parks, thereby minimising ecological impact.

We will shortly be advertising a procurement exercise for the installation of the solar panels."
