Water
Our aim is to provide crystal clear drinking water to the Island's population.
Each year we collect, treat, store and distribute over 10,000 megalitres of water to Isle of Man residents, businesses and visitors. We take over 3,600 water quality samples annually.
During the winter months, we supply an average of 29 megalitres of water per day to over 50,000 connections, through a network of over 1,800 km of mains, over an approximate area of 250 square miles. The demand for water rises to 35 megalitres per day during the summer months.
Our operational water infrastructure includes:
- 4 impounding reservoirs
- 2 water treatment works
- 20 pumping stations
- 27 service reservoirs
- over 1,800 kilometres of water mains
We publish an annual Drinking Water Quality Report. Reports from previous years can be obtained by contacting us.
