How and why we may use your personal information
Manx Utilities is required under applicable law and regulation to provide and facilitate the provision of utilities (electricity, water, sewerage and flood risk management) to all island residents. To do this we use your personal information to:
- Comply with any legal or statutory obligation we may have and provide you with goods, service or a task that you want
- Administer and upkeep your account and deal with enquiries or complaints
- To keep our records up to date - when you contact us for any reason or we contact you about service related issues; this may be in relation to performance, connections, quotes, interruptions to supply (unplanned), water quality issues, planned maintenance that will affect supplies and major roadwork’s that would require closure of key routes
- To monitor supply for fair usage, protection and continued eligibility for some tariffs
- To carry out metering activities, including the provision, maintenance and replacement of domestic or corporate meters
- Train our staff, and to check, improve and protect our products, content, services and websites, both online and offline
- Help prevent and detect criminal activity, for revenue protection,, fraud and financial loss
- Undertake customer profiling, create statistical information and carry out customer Services research and analysis (where no decision is made about you)
