Work continues to advance on the new treated water service reservoir and pump station in Jurby, an important investment that will strengthen the area’s water infrastructure for many years to come.
This project will provide greater resilience for existing homes and businesses, support future development and community growth, and ensure the required fire‑fighting storage for the Isle of Man Fire & Rescue Service. Once complete, the partially buried reservoir will blend back into the landscape with grassed embankments.
Recent progress
- All reservoir wall pours are now complete.
- All roof slab concrete panels have been successfully cast on site.
- Roof planks will shortly be lifted into place over the pump and valve gallery, enabling internal pipework to be set out.
- The electrical power supply route into the site and onward to the Pump Station has been reviewed and confirmed.
- The subcontractor’s mechanical design has been approved, and fabrication of the Motor Control Centre floor beam is underway ahead of galvanising.
- Valve chamber pipework has been ordered, with collection from the UK scheduled for the week commencing 30 March 2026.
Managing weather impacts
Persistent high winds and storm conditions during January and February restricted the number of crane operations that could be safely undertaken. To keep the programme moving, the contractor added additional concrete‑works resources and commenced pre‑fabrication of the roof perimeter reinforcement to help recover time.
Programme, budget and key milestones
Completion expected end August 2026 within budget.
